A lot of people are wondering ‘When will corona virus end?’

We know that this virus has affected a lot of wedding plans and you might be wondering where to turn at this time.

We want you to know that Raise The Roof Marquees will support you throughout this time and help in any way we can.

Here are our five tips on what to do if your big day has been affected:

1. “My date is coming up, I haven’t cancelled anything yet.”wedding

If your date is approaching and you’re not sure what to do, the best advice is to postpone rather than cancel. Everyone is in the same boat here so couples and suppliers alike both need to work together to find the best solution. We can’t imagine how difficult it must be to have made all these plans and suddenly have to change them so if you need support in doing so, get in touch with our team today.

2. “My supplier isn’t being flexible.”

Sadly, some suppliers will be struggling too and they therefore might not be being as flexible or understanding as they could be. The main tip here is to try and understand it from both sides. You are both at risk of losing money so be understanding of each other’s position. If you are still having issues, then speak to us. Our planning team is used to dealing with suppliers on a daily basis and will happily negotiate on your behalf to secure you the best solution!

3. “My venue has cancelled my whole wedding.”

Weddings book so far in advance that some venues are struggling to fit in the postponed dates and are therefore cancelling some bookings altogether. Do not fear as we can help to source you a brand new venue for your special day, checking availability, prices and saving you time and stress. After all, this is supposed to be an enjoyable time!

4. “My supplier can’t do my new date.”

Sadly, you might find some suppliers are unable to help you on your new date. Finding a new supplier might be a scary process, especially if you found it difficult in the first place but there are some simple tricks to make it easier. Ask your supplier for recommendations, they should know others in the industry that offer a similar product to them. Use websites such as Hitched or BrideBook to read testimonials on your potential new suppliers. Also ask your other confirmed suppliers for recommendations, they will have worked with other people in the past and might be able to guide you to the perfect person.

5. “My wedding won’t be perfect any more. I had my heart set on a date.”

This one is possibly the toughest of all. You might have chosen your date for sentimental reasons, you might have been desperate for a summer wedding or your venue might have only had that one date left. The message here is that it is ok to be upset. Sadly, so many have had to change their plans because of COVID-19 and we understand that it is a very tough time for everyone involved. Here at Raise The Roof Marquees, we will do everything we can to assist you in the replanning of your special day.
